The Google Pixel 8 series was officially announced on October 4, 2023, and is now available for preorder. The series consists of two new phones: the Pixel 8 and the Pixel 8 Pro.
The Pixel 8 series features a new design with a more rounded metal frame and a new camera bump on the back. The Pixel 8 has a 6.1-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, while the Pixel 8 Pro has a 6.7-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate.
Both phones are powered by the new Google Tensor G2 chip, which is said to be faster and more efficient than the previous generation Tensor chip. The Pixel 8 comes with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, while the Pixel 8 Pro comes with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.
The Pixel 8 series features a new camera system with a 50MP main sensor, a 12MP ultrawide sensor, and a 48MP telephoto sensor with 4x optical zoom. The front-facing camera on both phones is a 12MP sensor.
The Pixel 8 series runs Android 14 out of the box and will receive software updates from Google for at least five years.
The Pixel 8 series wallpapers are said to be inspired by the Mineral theme collection, with abstract designs in colors like Haze, Jade, Licorice, and Peony. The wallpapers are available to download in high resolution now, so you can get a sneak peek at what to expect.
